Intentional Love Making Circle ™ Principles
Due to the sexual and intimate nature of the Circle, participants are pre-screened and invited to join a Circle because they have the capacity to uphold the level of emotional maturity for the Circle to be effective. Strong emotions may come up that require support outside the Circle or the need to leave the Circle entirely. We respect this process and will facilitate a plan with the participant. Below are some basic ground rules for the Circle.
Confidentiality
- What takes place in the Circle stays in the Circle.
- Participants and leaders should not disclose the contents of the sessions in any way that could identify members of the Circle.
- Remember, we are building trust and safety.
Boundaries
- Respect each other, no name-calling, interrupting, or side-talking.
- Derogatory language or attacks on other people's values or culture are usually not permitted
- Participants are encouraged to share, but should not feel forced. Please share in your own time.
- Having a feeling and acting on it are two different actions. Acting out your feelings (on self or others) is not acceptable. The way we most respect ourselves and others is by experiencing feelings and then allowing ourselves to talk about them.
- We do allow space for feelings to be released. This allows for greater life force energy! When/if feelings are released or acted out it will always be undirected at ourselves or others. The leader will facilitate a safe space for this to occur.
- It is your responsibility to say if you are uncomfortable with anything you feel, see, hear, touch, or smell.
- It is always your right to refrain from participating in an activity.
Conflict and Communication
- It is your responsibility to share and participate in the Circle.
- If conflict arises, talk to each other, reason things out. Don’t gossip or criticize. Give space. Come back and communicate.
- Interactions between participants outside the Circle can affect relations inside the Circle; therefore we ask that you discuss these interactions, if they might affect or enhance the Circle.
- If you should decide not to continue in the Circle, we ask that you come to the Circle to say goodbye.
Time
- If you are going to miss a session, please let one of the leaders know.
- The Circle meeting dates and times have been set by the leaders, please adhere to those times.
